AMR expects profitable first quarter in 2013, CEO says

AMR Corp., the parent company of American Airlines, reported an annual loss of $1.88 billion for 2012. However, the company reported a profit of $262 million for the fourth quarter. "Our momentum is growing toward emerging as a strong, healthy and vibrant competitor," AMR Chairman and CEO Tom Horton said. "In fact, with what we have accomplished, we expect to show strong results beginning in the first quarter of 2013."
