Experts call for a shift in language education

The U.S. needs to change the way it approaches language education, David Young and J.B. Buxton write. Too many students spend too much time learning grammar and written translation, they argue. Instead, students should be immersed in the language they seek to learn by speaking it more and gaining more cultural and global awareness.
