Nursing homes cut food budgets with more local buys

The FutureCare Cherrywood nursing home and eight other Maryland health care facilities say they're cutting their food costs by regularly buying more locally raised beef and poultry. Residents are happier with the fare as well, says food service director Sandy Stallings. "When I first came here, the complaints were astronomical. Now, there are no complaints, just suggestions."
