Olympics, politics, auto ads lifted global ad spend in Q3

The third quarter of 2012 saw ad spending increase 4.3% to $139 billion on the shoulders of the Olympics, political campaigns and automotive advertising, according to Nielsen. The U.S. market improved 10.2% in Q3, while Western Europe was down 4.8% during the same period, and increases were seen in the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific regions.
