Ambulance-service owner faces health care fraud, identity theft charges

Victor Gonzalez, the owner of Texas-based ambulance service Victory EMS, has been charged with five counts of health care fraud, three counts of identity theft and one count of mail fraud. According to the indictment, Gonzalez allegedly filed 621 fraudulent claims amounting to $504,054 from December 2012 to February 2013 and collected a total of $339,730.26. Gonzalez has been released on a $50,000 unsecured bond and awaits trial.
