Apple to make refunds, change app billing to protect kids

Apple has agreed to change billing procedures on its mobile applications to ensure parents of children give consent for app purchases. The change is part of a settlement worked out with the Federal Trade Commission that includes at least $32.5 million paid toward refunds for unauthorized charges, with any remaining funds going to the FTC.
