Shape draws a rebuke for hawking its goods under "News" label

Shape magazine is in hot water over a full-page article named "Water works!" that espoused the benefits of drinking water, but ended with a pitch for Shape Water Boosters. The ad sparked a National Advertising Division investigation that called for the magazine to remove the "News" designation and clarify its ad status. The magazine "blurred the line between advertising and editorial content in a way which could confuse consumers," according to the NAD ruling.
