Expert: Hotels shouldn't "punish" guests who book elsewhere

Hotels that "punish" guests who book through third parties or who receive deep discounts by giving those guests less desirable rooms or denying them amenities afforded to other guests are extremely shortsighted, one expert argues. While direct-booked business may be ideal, third-party vendors are essential for the business and good hoteliers should be grateful for every room booked, regardless of the source.
