The future of mobile marketing

Advertising over mobile phones and other mobile devices offers targeting opportunities unavailable in other media, but due to privacy and legal concerns, marketers are moving slowly to embrace the new medium: The mobile phone ad market was $45 million in 2005, but is projected to grow to $1.26 billion by 2009. Major mobile carriers have agreed to permit mobile advertising to subscribers on an opt-in basis, but other models may emerge, including reduced rates for users who agree to receive advertising.
