RIM's case hinges in part on timing

Research In Motion appears to have won the favor of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, but the BlackBerry maker could hit a snag if the federal judge presiding over its legal dispute with NTP decides not to wait for the patent review process to play out. "There's some dice rolling in terms of timing," said patent attorney Dennis Crouch. "Even one or two days without BlackBerry service could really disrupt their business."
