Commercial flight takes off with anti-missile system

A FedEx MD-10 jetliner took off Tuesday from Los Angeles International Airport equipped with Northrop Grumman's Guardian anti-missile system. The flight was the start of operational testing and evaluation of the laser system. Airlines are concerned about the high cost of the system, which is designed to detect a missile launch and then disrupt the missile's guidance signals.
