Apparel retailer closes stores to focus on profitable Web sales

Active Endeavors, an Illinois-based upscale fashion retailer, is closing its three bricks-and-mortar stores because of flat sales and is now focusing on Internet operations. Active Endeavors' e-commerce site accounts for two-thirds of the company's annual revenue and the majority of its profit, owner and CEO Drew Davis said.
