Boeing announces delivery delays for 787 program

Boeing said it would delay the first deliveries of its 787 jetliner. Company executives said they underestimated the time suppliers would need to finish work on important components. Scott Carson, head of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, said the company is carefully assessing when it will deliver the planes. Boeing added the delays will not significantly affect its forecast for profits this year.
