Engineers double-check gusset plates in bridges following report

Highway engineers in Missouri and Kansas are taking another look at bridges in their state that have the same design as the Minneapolis bridge that collapsed in August. The NTSB said this week gusset plates in the Minneapolis I-35W bridge were only half as thick as they should have been because of a design error, prompting engineers elsewhere to double-check gusset plates in truss bridges.
