Labor Department aims to consider valuation firms as fiduciaries

The Department of Labor proposed a rule that would expand the definition of fiduciary to include valuation firms. Some analysts are worried that the broader definition under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act would cause valuation firms to exit the business. The comment period on the proposal ends Thursday.
