Edinburgh Zoo's panda recovers from bout of colic

Colic, or gastrointestinal upset, occurs in pandas for reasons unknown, but one thing is clear -- the slime pandas pass relieves the problem. Yang Guang, the male panda at Edinburgh Zoo was feeling better after passing the panda slime, a mucous plug produced in the panda's colon to relieve colic, said zoo veterinarian Simon Girling.
