Focus on positive goals for new year, RD says

Forget negative New Year's resolutions for weight loss and instead work toward positive but specific goals, such as getting some exercise three to five days a week, says registered dietitian Eve Kecskes, a founder of FitMomEase. Drinking a lot of water, eating produce at each meal and cooking at home three times a week are good ways to start, rather than making negative vows not to eat certain foods.
