Research gets closer to causes of dying bee populations

A study to monitor the accelerated decline in bee populations, which has had profound effects on crop production, has been funded by the United Nations -- but the subsequent data set by Gretchen LeBuhn, an associate professor at San Francisco State University, has yet to be picked up by government agencies. An analysis by scientists at the European Food Safety Authority concludes that the world's most popular insecticide is an "unacceptable" danger to bees.
