Shift in roofing plans sparks debate over cost of BC Place renovation

A preliminary plan to replace the roof of the B.C. Place stadium in Vancouver, British Columbia, included a pillow roof and the cost was estimated at about $100 million, far less than the price of a retractable roof. However, that estimate was never official, said the British Columbia Ministry of Energy, Mines and Natural Gas, responding to criticisms that adding a retractable roof would raise the cost considerably.
