SNAP budget cuts threaten nutrition-education programs

The "fiscal cliff" deal cut $110 million from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, creating funding problems for nutrition-education programs in Minnesota. There are more than 100 community nutrition educators in the state, and officials say cuts could reduce their reach and ability to teach people on food stamps about healthy cooking and shopping skills.
