TSA to remove Rapiscan units and replace with L-3

The Transportation Security Administration announced plans to terminate its $5 million contract for body scanners from OSI Systems Inc. The company could not meet deadlines for rewriting software to make images on the scanner less revealing. The TSA will remove the 174 Rapiscan machines still in operation at U.S. airports and replace them with models made by L-3.
