Lilly counters medical journal aspersions with ad blitz

Last Thursday, pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly spent $800,000 on newspaper advertisements nationwide to counter reporting, which Lilly deemed "inaccurate and defamatory," in the British medical journal BMJ about the safety of antidepressant Prozac. Representatives from BMJ said they were looking into Lilly's concerns.
