Washington, D.C., tourism expected to boom in 2005

Tourism industry executives say the upcoming presidential inauguration is just the beginning of what they predict will be a booming year for Washington's travel-related industries. There are 39 major conventions scheduled in Washington in 2005, compared to 21 in 2004, and executives say reservations and advance bookings already are up for the year.
