AOL seeks to boost Net ad share with latest deal

AOL's 2004 deal to buy Advertising.com turns out to have been a forward-thinking move, as the acquisition has proven key to the Time Warner unit's successful transition to an ad-driven portal. This week's announced purchase by AOL of Swedish online marketer TradeDoubler, which has technology that allows for sellers to target likely buyers with their sales pitches, is another part of the same strategy.
