A federal advisory panel has released a report expressing concern over the prevalence of genetic tests with unapproved or misleading claims and the lack of training and expertise among many doctors in interpreting test results. While some industry executives support more federal regulation, others believe that stringent standards could suppress the development of genetic tests.
