Construction jobs drop by 24,400 in Arizona

With building material costs soaring and the housing market slumping, Arizona lost 24,400 construction jobs in 2007, according to a new report. The jobless rate in the state increased from 4.1% in November to 4.7% in December, but the rate still is slightly below the national unemployment rate of 5%.
