California officials consider limits on lawn sizes

Officials in California's Bay Area are considering limits on lawn sizes as a way to cut down on water usage. The proposal would restrict the lawn size for new homes and new lawn-and-garden projects to as little as one-fourth of a home's overall landscaping. Existing grass could remain, but more turf would be allowed only if homeowners could prove they are conserving water in other areas.
