A franchise can be a "powerful" strategy for an investor seeking an established business, said Leonard Roth, managing partner of RM Attorneys at Law, during the Franchise Expo South in Miami Beach, Fla. Many Latin American immigrants invest in franchises in the U.S. and leave behind the instability of their native countries. The U.S. has more than 900,000 franchise establishments, according to the International Franchise Association.
