EPA water-pollution limits for Florida would be first in nation

In an effort to limit nutrients that can pollute drinking water and fuel algal blooms, the Environmental Protection Agency has proposed pollution limits on nutrients in Florida's freshwater lakes, rivers, streams, springs and canals. The standards would represent the first that the EPA has set for a state, and the limits would apply to nitrogen and phosphorous.
