Canadian Finance Minister Jim Flaherty will host finance chiefs and central bankers from the Group of Seven nations on 5 and 6 February in a town less than 200 miles from the Arctic Circle. European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet, US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and their counterparts are set to attend the meeting. Flaherty said he plans to encourage a more united approach to regulations. "We're trying to have a synchronised approach, and clearly some jurisdictions are going in different directions," Flaherty said.
