Hibernating plants can survive a frost

A spell of cold weather does not mean the death of many plants. Dormant plants may come back in the spring, and dead leaves can help protect them from another freeze, says a Florida state extension specialist. The specialist also suggests that people refrain from watering and limit pruning.
