Illinois, Wisconsin eye economic power of high-speed rail

Illinois communities are rooting for high-speed rail that would connect them to the Chicago region and boost economic development. Gov. Pat Quinn has pledged to make the state an "inland port" that would be the prime rail-transportation hub in the U.S. Meanwhile, Wisconsin planners have put their high-speed rail plans on the fast track in hopes they'll secure federal funding this year.
