JPMorgan's quarterly profit soars to $3.28 billion

JPMorgan Chase reported a fourth-quarter profit of $3.28 billion, up from $702 million during the same period in 2008. The bank was the first big financial firm to report its results in what is expected to be a controversial earnings season, as government officials scrutinize executive compensation. JPMorgan said it continued to struggle with loan losses in the fourth quarter.
