Orchestra strikes sour note over pay cuts

Cleveland Orchestra musicians have gone on strike after rejecting a 5% pay cut. The median musician pay last year was $140,200, with 10 weeks of paid vacation. "We may be considered to be among the best in the world musically, but we are a far cry from being compensated that way or treated that way," said Jeffrey Rathbun, chairman of the musicians' negotiating committee.
