Uncle Sam pushes out $4.8M in Internet-access programs

The federal government released $4.8 billion in its second round of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act grants Friday aimed at improving Internet service for rural areas. The funds will be divided up among the National Telecommunications and Information Administration and the Rural Utilities Service for broadband infrastructure projects.
