Cellular Dynamics considers creating master stem cell banks

Cellular Dynamics International will develop master banks of human induced pluripotent stem cells from five donors. The donors were chosen because their tissues were most suitable for donation to unrelated patients, according to the company. "Reaching this manufacturing milestone is a critical step toward the development and manufacture of human cell-based therapies based on (induced pluripotent stem cell) technology," CDI CEO Robert Palay said.
