Fla. city considers rehiring 45 laid-off police officers

The Jacksonville, Fla., City Council has proposed a bill that would allow the Sheriff's Office to rehire 45 officers who were laid off in 2011 and 2012 because of budget cuts. The bill would let the department put more officers on the street. "We should be able to go anywhere at any time and not be fearful in our own backyard," resident Rosano Klark said.
