Green roof helps Iowa college gym earn highest LEED certification

A green roof is among the many features that helped the athletic complex at Iowa State University meet the LEED Platinum standard, this piece reports. The 163,000-square-foot gym also sports a rainwater capture system, and uses sensors to maximize the amount of natural light. It is one of only four athletic buildings in the country to achieve LEED Platinum, and one of only two in higher education.
