Long-term diabetes, insulin use increase cancer risk

Type 2 diabetes patients who had the disease for 15 years or more showed a higher risk of certain cancers than those with diabetes for less than 15 years, according to a study in Diabetes Care. The estimated cancer prevalence was also 1.3 times higher in insulin-treated patients compared with nonusers, researchers noted.
