About 100 Logan County and Russellville high-school students participated in the recent 28th annual Commemorative Unity Walk in Russellville, Ky. The students, who walked with other members of the community from a local church to the county courthouse, were encouraged to reflect on the sacrifices young people made for their freedoms in the 1960s. "It was the energy and tenacity of young people that really carried that movement," said Charles Neblett, who was active in the civil rights movement. "They need to understand they have a lot of social power to make that change."
