ABC cuts prices on Oscar ads

The cost of a spot on the Feb. 22 Academy Awards telecast reportedly has been cut to $1.4 million from $1.7 million in 2008. This year's Oscars also will accept movie ads, which had been banned out of concern that viewers might think that films marketed on the telecast had an unfair advantage with regard to the awards.
