Micro surfacing helps Tennessee maintain road quality

Tennessee officials have turned to micro surfacing to maintain the high quality of the state highway system. Micro surfacing protects structurally sound pavement from distress, and officials note that protecting the road system has become more important as both paving costs and the state's population have increased. Last year, the state government spent $12 million on contracts to treat 500 miles of roads.
