California capital hopes to lure clean-tech companies

Sacramento, Calif., hopes to become a hub for the green economy as a way to diversify its job base. Despite a struggling economy, green-tech companies are showing interest in the area, economic officials say. A report by nonprofit Next 10 showed Sacramento led the state in percentage growth of green jobs from 1995 to 2008, increasing 87% from 7,019 to 13,102.
