Credit card firm blamed for failure of travel companies collapses

E-Clear has been blamed for the failure of the Scottish travel company Globespan, but it's also been linked to issues in Canada and Central Europe. The credit card company has collapsed, and investigators are looking into whether Globespan was a fraud victim. E-Clear processed credit card payments made mostly by travelers and was supposed to pass the funds on to travel companies. At some point last year, E-Clear stopped making payments to the travel firms, including Globespan and SkyEurope.
