Montana's first bighorn sheep conservation plan now in place

A statewide plan on the proper management of bighorn sheep has been approved by the Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Commission in an effort to conserve and designate new habitat for the animals. Some conservationists say the plan provides explicit guidelines on how biologists can maintain a robust bighorn population, while critics believe it gives domestic sheep ranchers too much veto power for any efforts to expand bighorn habitat.
