Airport security precautions are preventing evacuations from Haiti, a newspaper reports. Airplanes laden with relief supplies are flying into Port-au-Prince daily and then returning to the U.S. with hundreds of empty seats. According to the report, at least one airline is ready to process passengers through airport metal detectors but has yet to receive clearance from the State Department. General aviation operators say they are able to clear departing passengers through phone calls with U.S. authorities, but commercial carriers rely on computers that were damaged in the quake.
