Study finds no link between birds, H1N1 flu spread

Chickens injected with strains of the 1918 and 2009 H1N1 influenza virus did not show symptoms of the disease or exhibit tissue damage, researchers found. The finding suggests that birds did not play a role in spreading virus strains responsible for the two worldwide flu outbreaks.
