Thousands walk off site of $5.25B Panama Canal expansion project

Expansion work at the $5.25 billion Panama Canal project screeched to a halt on Monday when thousands of construction workers walked off the job. The workers are looking for pay increases. The United Group, the consortium that leads the lock expansion, says pay rates are above the minimum paid in Panama, but it acknowledged it had made some payroll errors that it's working to correct.
