Wind energy picks up momentum in 2007

The installed wind energy capacity in Texas increased from 2,768 megawatts in 2006 to 4,356 megawatts in 2007, making the state the nation's leader in wind-generated power, according to the American Wind Energy Association. Wind-energy capacity across the U.S. increased by 45% in 2007, thanks to more than $9 billion in investments.
