Column: Aviation stakeholders can't agree on priorities

Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood has asked stakeholders to name their top five priorities for overhauling the U.S. aviation industry, and the range of responses shows how difficult it will be to forge a consensus among airlines, airports, manufacturers and general aviation operators. Though "virtually everyone can agree" on the importance of the NextGen air-traffic control system, for instance, aviation groups sharply disagree on funding mechanisms for such an upgrade.
